Something About Me
I am a veteran court reporter who began in this field in 1989. I have been employed with Metropolitan since 2000. I absolutely love what I do. I came across a paper I’d written in high school that said I wanted to find a career that involved English, typing and technology. Wow, did I ever “stumble” into the right field. After a neighbor told me about her career, I ran to enroll in court reporting school and have never looked back. I am certified in Kansas, Missouri and also hold the national RPR certification. I enjoy new challenges such as real time jobs, medical testimony and anything technical. Court reporting challenges me and that is part of what keeps me loving what I do every day!
I am married and have two wonderful “children” — who are actually young adults just embarking on their lives. My son attends KU and my daughter attends UMKC. I have spent the last two decades attending athletic events and many other school related activities on a weekly basis. I loved every minute of it. However, I am looking forward to this next stage of life, which hopefully will include some date nights and traveling with my husband. I am a fan of movies and musicals. I also like anything competitive; i.e., card games, board games, sporting events. I think my competitive nature also makes me strive to be the best reporter I can be. Oh, and by the way, did I mention I love my job!
