Something About Me -
I have always loved the law, whether it be watching Law & Order, A Few Good Men, or just working around the justice system. I started out as a legal clerk at the Johnson County Courthouse when I was still in high school. After graduation I continued on there but just knew I wanted to do more with my life.
I finally decided to go to court reporting school at Brown Mackie College. After graduating from Brown Mackie with a court reporting certificate and an Associate’s degree I started work for Hostetler & Associates where I was a reporter for six years when I finally got the opportunity to interview with Metropolitan Court Reporters. I loved all of the people right away and didn’t hesitate taking a position with them when they offered it to me. I have now been with MCRfor nine and a half years and have loved every minute of it. My favorite jobs are workers’ compensation jobs.
I do most of the work at MCR for the Workers’ Compensation Judges in Overland Park and also do a majority of the settlements for the Administrative Law Judges there. I have grown to know and admire most of the workers’ compensation lawyers in this area, and other attorneys, and realize that they are the reason I love my job.
