Something About Me -

After a two-year stint at Kansas University as a music major, I decided I not want to make my hobby a career. I looked into the field of court reporting and thought, all those years of piano lessons could come in “handy“! So I enrolled in the program where I attained my Associates Degree from the Court Reporting Institute of Dallas. I hold a national certification as a Registered Professional Reporter, and I also hold a state certification as a Certified Court Reporter in the States of Kansas and Missouri. I began my reporting career in Dallas in 1986 and then moved to Kansas City in 1988, where I have remained working as a Certified Court Reporter. I had the privilege of joining Metropolitan Court Reporters in 1993. I am extremely thankful and proud to be part of such a dynamic firm with two remarkable bosses and a terrific office staff.

Throughout my career, I have reported the gamut of cases.  I thoroughly enjoy my job and the elite clients we have and get to work with.  I also appreciate and grow from the perpetual education I receive through reporting.  I love the exposure I get to new topics every day.  I relish meeting new people, and fortunately, this job is all about that.  I am a people person and pride myself in having the ability to work well with a complex group of professionals, lay people, etc. while meeting the demands required to produce an accurate, reliable and timely transcript.

I have one son and one daughter, who are the light, pride and joy of my life.  Becoming an empty-nester was a challenging adjustment for me. I am a proud wife. I also have been blessed with two stepchildren and two marvelous dogs! I am a dedicated exercise person. Nutrition, wellness and fitness are priorities to me. I enjoy activities with my family and dogs, listening to music, traveling, shopping, baking, gardening, crossword puzzles and playing any word game in my spare time.
